Wieliczka Salt Mine

700 years of operating makes it one of the oldest salt mines in Europe. The salt mine, located 15 km from Krakow, is the UNESCO World Heritage.
It offers a great, 2,5 km long subterranean tourist route through 3 of 12 existing levels. However very beautiful and informative, the route you visit is only 1% of the whole subterranean space which came to existence as a result of 700 years of exploration. The total length of corridors equals the distance between Krakow and Warsaw – 300 km!
The route includes the deepest operating chapel in the world, some salty lakes and great chambers with different salt formations.
