Shopping opportunities

Krakow offers a wide range of shopping opportunities. You will find a number of small shops in the Cloth Hall offering local products like silver and amber, wooden chess, glass, leather bags, gloves and slippers. In the very centre, there are two department stores (Galeria Centrum and Rynek 13). Further on, but still within walking distance (especially from the Jewish district), there is a large shopping centre called Galeria Kazimierz. Krakow is famous for jewellery – there are a lot of nice jewellery shops offering wide selection of high-quality silver, amber, and gold products. Most of the shops are open 7 days a week.

Krakow is also a good place for those in search of antiquities. A few minutes walk from the Main Market square, there are some famous antique shops DESA. There are more smaller shops of that kind in Kazimierz, the Jewish district, particularly on Jozefa St. and in the Centre for Jewish Culture. Every Saturday there is a small antique market in Kazimierz and every Sunday on Grzegorzecka St.

Poland can’t offer you any wines, but we have excellent vodkas and meads. Buying alcohol isn’t a problem even late at night…
